Rolling Stock
Our first rolling stock kit will be a series of Great Northern caboose models - the classic 30' series in wood side, plywood side, and all steel. These are semi-craftsman style kits with separate sides, ends, roof, underframe, steps, and windows. Add .020 brass wire for side and end handrails. Walls are near-prototype thickness. No trucks or couplers, but Kadee #5 and #148/158 are drop-in compatible. This will be followed by a 25' wood-side version and the unusual #181 "The Hutch" drovers caboose. Expect kit prices to be in the $18-24 range. Samples are running on my layout today! Also planned is a modernized GN Rotary Snow Plow plus the roof details to convert an F7-B to a Rotary Snowplow Power Unit (RSPU).
Structures & details
Available today is a classic Great Northern 2-stall Privy - the perfect addition to any rural station set between the 1900s and the 1950s. Soon to follow are 20' and 26' diameter water tanks with straight or sloped sides. Water and Oil Standpipes are being readied for release as well. On the drawing board are details suitable for use on grain elevators and other industries, with modular duct shapes and platforms to build legs and other such mechanical structures.
